We use the softest and highest-quality materials which are crafted carefully from sustainable sources to ensure that our manufacturing methods are environmentally conscious, and that only natural materials touch your baby’s delicate skin. All our Barefoot + Cotton garments are hand-made in the USA Green Story: Choosing organically made materials and fabrics such as organic cotton, bamboo & hemp/cotton blends means limiting a baby's exposure to potentially harmful chemicals ( without the use of pesticides, insecticides, herbicides or genetically-modified seeds) which are commonly found in non-organic clothing. Babies absorb much more of their environment than adults and because our fabrics are grown organically without chemical use, our clothes are gentle and skin-friendly for your baby. Eco-friendly clothes that are natural, soft, breathable, lightweight, and durable are always best for baby!
What does Eco-Friendly products mean?
- Recycled : Product is made of post-consumer material and byproducts that have been recovered or diverted from solid waste and have been utilized in place of raw or virgin material in manufacturing a product.
- Biodegradable : Capable of being broken down by bacteria or other microorganisms and decay naturally in a way that is not harmful to the environment.
- Compostable : Capable of decomposing or fully degrading in under 12 weeks (90 days) in a compost environment into natural elements without leaving any toxicity in the soil.
- Organic: Product does not contain any growth hormones, unauthorized synthetic pesticides, antibiotics or synthetic ingredients, and has been produced following organic production processes.
- Plastic-free : Product does not contain plastics created from polymerized crude oil.
- Vegan : Product does not contain any animal ingredients or animal-derived ingredients.
- Nontoxic : Product doesn’t pose any risk to humans, animals, or the environment. Examples of chemicals products should be free from include but are not limited to Phthalates, Parabens, Lead acetate, Formaldehyde, Petroleum, and CFCs.
- Reusable : Product is capable of being used again and again. Created with the intention of reducing waste and single-use materials.
- Upcycled : By-products, waste, and other unwanted material are reused to create this product.
- Carbon-neutral : Your production process removes or offsets as much CO2 from the atmosphere as this product generates.
- Sustainably sourced : Product is created with considerations towards social, ethical, and environmental factors when selecting suppliers. Examples include selecting products made from recycled materials, adhering to green purchasing guidelines, or purchasing raw materials made with a minimum of natural resources.
- Ethically sourced : Product is created with considerations around supporting human rights, providing decent working conditions, and investing in health, safety, and well-being of workers.
- Fair trade : One or more of the ingredients in the product are produced and traded in accordance with global Fair Trade standards.
- Cruelty-free : Product and its ingredients have not been tested on animals.
